Automatic Advancement Scheme (AAS) – Service-Based Promotions
The Automatic Advancement Scheme (AAS) provides career progression to government employees who have completed long years of service without promotion.
📜 G.O.Ms.No.117, Fin & Plg (FW PRC-I) Dept., Dt. 25.05.1981, introduced this scheme.
Later updates were issued in:

G.O.Ms.No.65, Fin (HRM-V-PC) Dept., Dt. 17.06.2021 (Revised AAS 2020)
Under this scheme:
Employees are eligible for Special Grade Scale after 6 years,
Special Promotion Post Scale after 12 years,
Special Adhoc Promotion Post Scale after 18 years,
Automatic Promotion Post Scale after 24 years.
✅ Eligibility Conditions:
Must have completed the required service in the same cadre.
Must not have refused promotion or taken reversion on personal request.
Must have a good record and no disciplinary action.
